Counselling services can vary depending on the unique needs of the client.
The more common types of counselling approaches that may used are Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
CBT focuses on changing thought patterns and behaviours.
Person-Centred Therapy emphasises the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the client's self-discovery.
SFBT is a goal-oriented approach that focuses on finding solutions to current problems rather than analysing the root causes of past issues.
Other types of counselling may include Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Hypnotherapy may also be used as an additional tool to align the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind.
