What can you expect in a rhythmic workshop?

"Fun, joyful, calm, restorative, grounding, mindful, collective, invigorating, enjoyable, and cathartic" are some of the words used to describe a recent workshop in Ocean Grove.

The workshops are in-the-moment, facilitated drumming and percussion for everyone, no matter what their experience or expertise.

It is NOT a drum class, and there are no wrong beats.

Using the evidence-based ‘Rhythm2Recovery’® model and a series of rhythmic games, fun drum beats, moments of self-reflection and mindfulness, the facilitator guides the group towards a coordinated, connected, and collaborative rhythmic experience.

Benefits of  Rhythm and Drum Circles

Research shows that the use of rhythm, music and drumming in groups has beneficial physical and mental health properties.

Studies confirm that participatory group rhythms, music and drumming reduce blood pressurestressanxiety, and depression[1],[2].

They also boost the immune system[3] and diminish pain perception[4] through endorphin release.[5]

Additional evidence demonstrates enhanced executive cognitive functioning[6], improved motor skills[7], elevated mood[8]
